What We Offer

Equine Rehabilitation

Our rehabilitation service offers a modern, horse-first approach focused on both mental and physical recovery. Each horse receives a bespoke, progressive plan created by a rehab and biomechanics specialist, with weekly reviews to ensure steady, tailored improvement. Combining in-hand work and ridden sessions, we support horses through every stage of their recovery in a calm, structured environment.

Behavioural Issues

No issue is too big or too small. Whether it's a problem under saddle or on the ground, we focus on a modern-ethical approach—working at the horse’s pace to understand the root cause. By rebuilding trust and creating a solid foundation, we help both horse and owner move forward with confidence, creating a more relaxed, enjoyable partnership.

Starting Young Horses

We believe a strong, thoughtful foundation is key to a successful future—no matter the discipline. Each young horse is treated as an individual, with time taken to build confidence, develop key skills, and identify their unique strengths and weaknesses. Our modern-ethical approach sets them up for a happy, healthy ridden career and a positive partnership with their owner

Your Horse's Stay at Oakmill

From the moment your horse arrives at Oakmill, their care is guided by a horse-first, individualised approach. Every horse is assessed by an FEI-permitted therapist who specialises in rehabilitation and biomechanics. We evaluate movement, conformation, and note their unique strengths and weaknesses. A tailored rehab or training plan is created and reviewed weekly to ensure steady, meaningful progress.

Training is led by our head trainer, with a focus on modern, ethical horsemanship—both on the ground and under saddle. We build strong foundations, encourage engagement, and help horses use the correct muscle groups to become sound, strong, confident, and happy.

During their stay, your horse will enjoy:

  • A large, airy stable

  • Daily turnout on flat, spacious paddocks

  • Off-road hacking and natural hill work on the South Downs

  • Ad-lib forage and individual attention

We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all methods. Every horse is treated as an individual, with a plan designed to meet their specific needs—whether they’re here for equine rehab, behavioural support, or starting under saddle.
